Ghana is an amazing country with so much to offer - from its landscape, to its food, to its incredible people. Ghana is a place to remember.

Stepping on the plane to travel to Ghana as a Peace Corps Volunteer, I had no idea I would fall in love with this jewel of West Africa. I can close my eyes and remember the smells of Ghana – to this day I am nostalgic at the smell of charcoal cooking as it brings me back to my days of village life that have long since passed by.

Ghana’s cultural tapestry is a vibrant mosaic that draws you in from the moment you arrive. From the rhythmic beats of traditional drums to the colorful attire of the people, Ghana’s cultural heritage is a captivating journey into the heart of West African traditions. I recall the electric energy of the Aboakyer Festival in Winneba and the profound spiritual significance of the Homowo festival in Accra. So much so that I brought my first student group to this country so they could experience a glimpse of what I had.
